Toucan Sam!

Not to be completely overshadowed by the natural wonder of Iguazu Falls, but the city of Foz do Iguaçu, next to the Iguassu National Park, offers another amazing attraction- Parque das Aves (Bird Park).

Parque das Aves protects 900 birds of 150 extinction species from all over the world and is considered the biggest Bird Park in Latin America. It was a surprisingly exciting experience- filled with exotic birds that you can see up close and personal.

Since most Americans are only familiar with Toucan’s via Fruit Loops, it was especially exciting to see those beaks in daylight. Little did we know, the Toucan’s were the most “humanized” of all the birds; they got up close and personal- with our hair!
